Picking it back up!

Haven't done this for a while, I've decided to start this project back up again!  :)

Still have the Khoury's sea food gift certificates.  The restaurant has changed to private party bookings / weddings.  Contacted manager Ruben, he said that if the customer makes a reservation and pays cash, they will still honor the gift certificates.  Hooray!

Here's the most recent Craig's List post:

Wish me luck.  :)

Update...

Well, hello all...

It's been quite a while, so allow me to update you on a couple of things...

First of all, my phone number has been updated to 661-575-4096.

Secondly, I just posted an ad on Craig's List, and I made it a little festive (http://losangeles.craigslist.org/ant/bar/2699429279.html)... it goes a little something like this...

Dear Santa,

It would really complete me to play the cello. I've been on a mission to get one for about five years now. Ever since I heard the band "Rasputina," I've been inspired to make the beautifully elegant sounds that Melora plays, and share what's inside my heart, to others (as sometimes music seems to flow more easily, than words).

I want you to know that I have promise, I played the flute throughout my grade/high school years. A cello is expensive, as life also happens to be. But if you would help me attain one, I promise I will be work hard and be dedicated enough to come to a professional level enough to share this beauty with everyone that I can. Ideas come to mind, such as, perhaps, on the Boulevard, at work, or at open mike nights, definitely... and my wildest dream would be to bring my cello to a Rasputina concert and play it for Melora.

A while ago I became inspired by the "One Red Paperclip" guy from Canada, to trade up to a cello. If I promise to continue to do the footwork, and see who will trade with me, for slightly bigger and better things, all the way up to one, then I will not let the world (or perhaps, more importantly, myself) down. Please do note that life has been complicated recently (to explain, but not necessarily excuse, the trading hiatus), but if I pick this trading thing back up and rise to the challenge, would that not prove to you that I am willing to work hard not only to get the cello, but enjoy its reward?

Right now I have the following to trade:

*2* fabulous $50 gift certificates to
Khoury's exquisite restaurant
-for only something slightly better-

I Have 2 Escape Tickets to Khoury's Fancy Restaurant!!!

Well, folks, I traded the lot of Sterling silver for 2 $50 gift certificates to the very exquisite, sea-side restaurant (in Long Beach), Khoury's (check them out, you'll see): http://www.khourys.net/ !!!

Online footwork did the trick. This is my very first trade that hasn't happened with already made friends! I scoured Craig's List, sending e-mails, making phone calls... until it finally happened! :) ...

Stuart Sackley called me back and said he was interested in the silver! So I took my very amazing friend, DJ, with me to Stuart's Manhattan Beach house (must be nice, living right on the beach!) and made an awesome trade with a very friendly guy! He took the bunny tin and all, to give as some nice presents, which should suit him nicely (it being Mother's Day and all). :) ...Stuart is into the trading business and gets a lot of certificates wherever his building (e-mail: Stuartsackley@aol.com) takes him, so it was a good trade for the both of us! :)

Stuart is interested in trading some other things, if you find them interesting... I told him I would help promote it on the blog here: :)

The ongoing disclaimer: is that if I don't know you, I would prefer to trade in a public spot. I work in Palmdale, that would probably be the best place, but I don't mind coming to your area. I'd say the limit for travel distance should be about 200 miles, otherwise it'd be fair to consider investing in some postage. :)

I figure, if I can do about 1 trade a month, that'll be AWESOME! :)
Wish me luck! :)

I Have a Lot of Sparkling, Sterling Silver Jewelry

So I went to Lori's house and visited with her for a bit (she is the coolest person). I traded the Coach wallet for some of her Sterling silver jewelry, worth about $100. We cleaned the jewelry and chatted. She said the wallet should make an excellent gift for her to give to someone, and the jewelry should help get me closer to a cello, so I'm very pleased that worked out okay. :)

((If you click on the picture, it will take you to an enlarged image))
(I also have a bigger picture if you e-mail me: Majik_Vixen@yahoo.com)

I don't really want to trade them separately, but I will if I have to.

From top to bottom:

-Size 9, Happy Sun Ring (sitting on rock that's NFT) (worth $5)

-7 1/2" Merry-Go-Round Bracelet (worth $15)

-10" Christian Peace Anklet (worth $10)

-7 1/2" Crystal Bracelet (worth $30)

-9 1/2" Heart Anklet (worth $20)

-7 1/2" Animal Charm Bracelet (with 1/2" Gorilla, Whale, Rhinoceros, Jack-Rabbit, Panda eating bamboo, Frog, Tiger, Elephant, Baboon, and Zebra Charms) (worth $25)

One Lot of Sparkling, Sterling Silver Jewelry...
Who wants it?? :)

I'm *SO* excited to see who gets this lot, what will happen next, and what else I'll get to trade! This trading thing has been very successful so far, thanks to some very AWESOME friends! Thank you all!

I hope I can make some more friends in the community (or beyond), and promote them and their business on here (if they have one)!

...To adventures and success! :D

Been Doing a Lot of Online Footwork...

So close, my fingers tingle for the likes of a new cello...

Been going through Craig's List...

Even made a page on Facebook:

http://www.facebook.com/pages/I-Have-One-Blue-Paperclip-Trading-Things-for-Eventually-a-Cello/197146696985558 --So if you're on FB, you should go like that page! :) I've even opened an ad campaign to get others from far off places to like it too (help get the word out).

There is a slight promise of hope, from someone on CL that has a 3/4 Cello to barter with, I hope they take me seriously. But time will only tell.

...One thing is for sure... I have LOTS of AWFULLY NICE FRIENDS that I just want to thank for EVERYTHING and ALL YOUR SUPPORT! :) This couldn't've been done without you all! When I get my cello, I will play for you anytime you wish!

I want to have my new cello signed by Melora Creagor, play it at drumming circles, on Lancaster Boulevard, Apollo Park, Forest Lawn, etc. ...And I NEED something to occupy my time, that is worth occupying other than what I've been doing (eat, sleep, work, trouble, repeat)...!

I leave you now with my favorite song of Rasputina (just click the picture):

Oh, Cello, How I Wish You Were Here...

I Have One Petite and Cute Coach Wallet!

Well, after a long period of personal business, here it is!

I traded Danica's bracelet for the very generous, new Coach wallet, from a junior high school friend (who wants to remain anonymous). :) ...I'm sure it looks great on her, or will make a nice gift for someone she loves. :)

Here it is by itself...

And here it is all opened up:
1 zipper center,
2 side flaps,
one key-chain attachment!

So I have one petite and cute Coach Wallet up for trade!!!

Who wants it? I'll take anything slightly better and trade it on up until I get close to a cello! :)

A leather jacket?
A video game console?
Used guitar?
Surprise me! I'll take anything! :)

I'm *SO* excited to see who gets this little goody, what will happen next, and what else I'll get to trade! This trading thing has been very successful so far, thanks to some very AWESOME friends! Thank you all! I also hope I can make some more friends in the community (or beyond), and promote them and their business on here (if they have one)! ...To adventures and success! :)

I Have One Very Exquisite Bracelet!

Hi again!

Yesterday was a very, very rainy, but exciting!

I met up with my friend Danica at Ladies First Gym and traded her my tall red, candle in glass for this very gorgeous bracelet that she had made! ...I've known her for a little bit now. She's constantly doing something awesome, whether it's writing, sewing, making crafts, or her specialty: making jewelry! :)

All of Danica's jewelry looks very professional and wonderful, as though you could buy it from either Rodeo Drive, or find it as a unique treasure at a thrift store (my
favorite thing to do, thrift store shopping!), or somewhere in between! :)

I've scanned Danica's business card here for you (please go see some of her fabulous creations at snowgirlsungirl.etsy.com):

In case you can't read it too well (I know, my scanning abilities leave much room for improvement, lol), it says (from top left to right, going down):
"818-469-0511
SnowGirlSunGirl creations
One of a kind handmade jewelry and gifts
Danica Duensing
27864 Camp Plenty Road
Canyon Country, California 91351
Snowgirlsungirl@gmail.com
snowgirlsungirl.etsy.com."

PS - I think if you friend her on Facebook, you can see even more of her jewelry designs as well. :)

...Danica was so nice, she let me choose which piece of jewelry I should use for the next trade. It was a very hard thing to do, because all of the pieces were absolutely lovely! However, I finally decided that perhaps this bracelet would be the best piece, as it seems both young and old could appreciate its beauty...

The flowers have genuine Swarovski crystal, and the white stone beads are moonstone (notice the little flecks of iridescence in them). The clasp is a silver-plated, magnetic clasp (which is pretty darn cool, if you ask me!).

I have a neat little New-Age book that says the properties of Moonstone calms and balances emotional situations. They also give second sight, psychometry, aura reading, are good for use in regressions, and they open up psychic potential. Some of the health aid qualities are that they relieve discomfort of cramps, and assist in physical, emotional, and hormonal balance.

Unfortunately my book doesn't say anything about crystals, but I've learned that crystals can be good for absorbing any kind of energies you'd like to preserve in them, and they're good for projecting energy as well.

...If you believe in that sort of stuff! If not, it just looks absolutely stunning! :)

So! I have one very exquisite Swarovski crystal and moonstone bracelet up for trade! Who wants it? :)

...I felt very honored for such a neat and generous trade to have occurred! I'm sure a tall, red candle in glass would go very nicely with Danica's home decor and crafty practices. :) ...I wonder what trade could possibly happen next with such an exquisite bracelet (hopefully on my way up to 1/2 a cello)? I'm sure any special gal would be thrilled to have one of these! Especially during the Holiday Season! :)

Now the ongoing disclaimer is that if I don't know you, I would prefer to trade in a public spot. I work in Palmdale, that would probably be the best place, but I don't mind coming to your area. I'd say the limit for travel distance should be about 200 miles, otherwise it'd be fair to consider investing in some postage. :)

Thanks in advance, and Happy Holidays!!! :D
